Doi II Dogosoken: K Amusement Leasing Classic Famicom Title

Doi II Dogosoken, Ikari II Dogosoken, is the sequel to Ikari Warriors, an overhead military run-and-gun arcade conversion published by K Amusement Leasing for the Famicom. Players control commandos fighting through hostile jungle and fortress territory to complete rescue objectives. The title retains eight-direction free movement, weapon pickups and simultaneous two-player co-op combat that defined the original Ikari Warriors formula.

Battle zones feature continuous scrolling terrain. Commandos wield machine guns, grenade launchers and rocket ordnance against enemy infantry, tanks and gun emplacements. Collectible ammunition resupplies prevent running dry amid heavy assaults. Every stage concludes with a heavily armoured enemy boss unit.

Simultaneous two-player co-op enables coordinated flanking tactics against enemy waves. Losing a life resets the weapon loadout back to basic machine gun fire, encouraging players to preserve collected heavy ordnance.

K Amusement Leasing’s Famicom port faithfully recreates arcade enemy spawn patterns and vehicle combat. Tense wartime action background music sustains constant infiltration pressure throughout each mission segment.

Strategically, long survival requires conserving heavy weapons for armoured vehicles. Wasting rockets on infantry leaves no means to neutralise enemy tanks that absorb countless small-arms rounds.

For contemporary Famicom retro military shooter collectors, Ikari II Dogosoken is the official domestic sequel curio, extending the popular Ikari Warriors franchise on Nintendo’s 8-bit Japanese console.
